Holidays

The Holidays are fast approaching....are you ready?!?!  An easy way to spruce up your tired, ordinary holiday decorations are with new stockings hanging from the mantle.  We custom make all of our holiday stockings, using materials from upcycled sweaters, antique buttons, faux furs, etc.  No two stockings are the same!  Have 3 kids??  We will custom make 3 stockings that coordinate, without being 'matchy matchy'.  Have 2 stockings that were passed down from generation to generation?  We will custom make more stockings to coordinate with those!

WE'RE BACK!

We know we know....you all were so worried about us!  Worried we have been in a dungeon sewing mittens, scarves, and whatnot for the past however many months.  And the answer is yes, yes we have been. 

Kidding!  We have been enjoying grandchildren, sun, and a small amount of wine since you last heard from us!  But, now that winter is once again upon us, we are dedicated to getting C.R.Woolie's inventory back up to par....and it is coming along splendidly!

Hobby Horse

Meet Woolie Stallion, one of our many handmade hobby horses.  We created Woolie Stallion from felting a patchwork design sweater, and adding leather reigns, yarn hair, button eyes, and of course a riding stick. 

All of our hobby horses are unique.  We make them utilizing the felt we have on hand, keeping in mind that they are best made with a nice, heavy felted wool.  Some are very colorful, like Woolie Stallion, while other have a more simple look, like C.R.Gallop:

Purses and Bags

Please find a sampling of our purses.  All bags are made from 'up-cycling' sweaters into felted wool. They are then stylized with vintage buttons, as well as straps and handles.  Feel free to send us an email for pricing and ordering information!

Who we are....

We are Cass and Rose, founders of C.R.Woolie.  We basically started 'by accident.'  Friends for a long time (our 30-something daughters went to elementary school together), Cass asked Rose, an avid knitter, to teach her how to knit.  One afternoon, Cass arrived at Rose's house for her first lesson.  On the kitchen table, Cass saw a stocking that Rose had made after mistakenly washing a wool sweater.  To which Cass exclaims, "I don't want to knit....I want to do THAT!" And C.R.Woolie was born.

We love 'the hunt' for wool....we find it everywhere - consignment stores, discount stores, in our own closets, old sweaters, new sweaters, sweaters that our children discarded long ago - and we see potential in each item.  Our mission, and our passion, is not to recycle, but to 'up-cycle.'  We transform that ugly holiday sweater into mittens, scarves, stockings, and much more.  In our hunt for wool, we are also on the look-out for vintage accessories and buttons to accent our creations.  We get joy from things like finding a huge shoe-box full of buttons at a garage sale, knowing what we will do with these buttons.

Artfully Wilde 2013
